Last week, CCN brought you the story of the "Best Places to Live" around the world, which ranked cities on a quality of life scale and inexplicably placed places like Perth and Dusseldorf ahead of any California cities.
Now, Kiplinger has released a listing of Best Places to "Live, Work and Play," and California has reasserted itself, and the results may surprise you. Sacramento ranked the highest of any California city, and cracked the Top 10 to boot, clocking in at #8. The list was tabulated with a formula that "highlights cities not just with strong past performance, but also with all the ingredients for future success." Among these are an emphasis on the "creative class." Read more about Kiplinger's methodology and the top 10 cities here, or to search for your city on the list of 359 metro areas, click here.
They also have a podcast with the editor that made the final decisions, listen here.
