Think your city has excellent tasting tap water? Well, apparently it’s not as good as Santa Ana’s water, which has been ranked third in a taste competition nicknamed the "Academy Awards of Water." The Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting competition accepted water entries from 35 municipalities this year, including Santa Ana. Coming out on top was Daytona Beach, Fla. and the second best water was awarded to Desert Hot Springs. Last year Santa Ana did not make the top 5. Commenting on the ranking, Claudia Alvarez, Santa Ana's mayor pro tem, who is also president of the Orange County Water District, stated that “Regardless of what people think of Orange County and Santa Ana, we have the best water out there – internationally.”
