As a reminder about an event we mentioned last week, if you’re in the Los Angeles region, then you won’t want to miss an informative panel discussion on proposed pension reforms and their near and long-term implications for cities. The LA Division of the League of California Cities is welcoming leaders in local and statewide pension issues to offer their expertise at a special event in Montebello on June 2nd. The State League of Cities has identified "Sustainable and Secure Public Pension Systems" as one of its key strategic priorities for this year, and public and private groups across the state are examining pension issues at the state and local level. The panel will be comprised of the following guests:
Ed Mendel, Editor of Calpensions.com (will serve as the moderator)
Ron Cottingham
President, PORAC
Rod Gould
City Manager, City of Santa Monica
Richard Hiller
Vice President, Government Markets, TIAA-CREF
